Katherine Miranda (they/he) is a non-binary Latinx, Bronx born and based multidisciplinary artist. Interested in the innate way familial and communal stories are connected to ancestral lineages; Miranda’s artistic practice is one that is deeply rooted in the idea that our histories hold both value and power. Using discarded objects, most notably Café Bustelo, they create work that acts as an homage to their family, community and ancestry.

Miranda has been awarded several fellowships and residencies including the Governors Island Residency with BronxArtSpace (2023), Create Change Fellowship with The Laundromat Project (2023), Artist in the Marketplace Fellowship with The Bronx Museum of the Arts (2022) and the New York Community Trust Van Lier Fellowship with Wave Hill Gardens (2021). Their work has been exhibited in places such as Bronx Council of the Arts, BronxArtSpace, The Point CDC, BAAD!, The Yard: Williamsburg and Brooklyn College. Miranda has also been featured on News 12, BronxNet, NBC New York, Pix 11 News and The New York Times. They received their BFA from Macaulay Honors at Brooklyn College.
