Del cuento, ya no hay nada que contar

On view at AAA3A from September 9 - September 30

Opening: Saturday, September 9th from 5-7 pm

A Solo Installation by Katherine Miranda

The title of this exhibition is derived from a line of the song “Triunfamos” by Los Panchos. Del cuento, ya no hay nada que contar (Of this short story, there is nothing more to tell) transforms AAA3A into a mythological and ornate, but familiar living room space that honors and cherishes the simplicity of love and family. Featuring lavishly decorated image transfers of Miranda’s family on Café Bustelo, the work showcases intimate moments of affection, celebration and the togetherness of family. Although much of Miranda’s work is rooted in the complexities of their grandparents’ journey in America, the loss of their grandfather and their own diasporic experiences, here they wished to make joy, hope and tenderness the focus. In short, the artist states, “My grandparents loved each other and of their short story, there is nothing more to tell.”
